Privacy Policy for MomiAI
MomiAI ("MomiAI," "we," "us," or "our") is an AI-powered family assistant that helps families keep one calendar, share tasks and reminders, and turn messages, photos, documents and voice notes into a plan.
Family information is personal. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
MomiAI is operated by Anna Yelesina ("we"). Questions: [email protected].
We do not sell personal information, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account information
- Your name, email address, language and time zone.
- How you sign in: Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or a one-time code sent to your email. With Apple, you may choose to share a private relay email address instead of your real one. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
- Profile photo. If you sign in with Google, we keep a copy of your profile photo to show it to your family. It is never sent to an AI provider and is deleted together with your account.
- Account settings, such as quiet hours, the "Tips to get started" switch and your AI consent choice.
1.2 Family information you add
- Your family's name and the members you invite, with their role (owner, adult or helper).
- Children's profiles: name, optional birth year and a color. Children do not have their own accounts.
- Events, tasks, checklists, reminders, recurring tasks, notes, places and amounts you enter.
1.3 Content you send to MomiAI
When you use the AI Inbox or the assistant, we receive what you choose to send:
- photos, screenshots and PDF documents (for example a school letter or a bill);
- text you type, paste or share from another app;
- voice notes you record, and the text they are turned into;
- questions you ask the assistant.
This content may include information about your children or other people. Please send only what you are allowed to share.
1.4 Device and technical information
- Device platform, app version, and a push notification token so we can deliver the reminders you enable.
- Your IP address, used only in the moment to protect sign-in from abuse. We do not store it in readable form: rate limits keep only a one-way hash of it.
- Error reports from the app and the server, which we limit to technical details (see section 6).
1.5 Subscription information
If you subscribe to MomiAI Plus, Apple processes the payment. We receive the subscription status, plan, renewal dates and transaction identifiers, never your card details.
We do not collect your contacts, precise location, health data, or browsing history, and we do not use advertising identifiers.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information only to run MomiAI for you and your family:
- Create and secure your account and sign you in.
- Keep your family's calendar, tasks and reminders and sync them across your family's devices.
- Read what you send to the AI Inbox and suggest events and tasks for you to review.
- Write your daily brief and answer your questions to the assistant.
- Send the reminders and notifications you turn on.
- Process your subscription.
- Keep the service working and safe: fix errors, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
- Answer your support and privacy requests.
We do not use your family information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.
3. Artificial Intelligence
We ask for your explicit permission before anything you send goes to an AI service. You give it once in the app and can withdraw it at any time in Settings → AI & privacy. Without it, nothing new is sent to an AI service; the AI Inbox, voice notes and assistant stop working, and everything else keeps working.
The third-party AI services we use:
| Provider | What it does in MomiAI | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic (Claude) | Reads photos, screenshots, PDFs and text to find dates, tasks and amounts; writes your daily brief and assistant answers | The content you sent, the first names of your family members so it can tell who an item is for, and the relevant events and tasks for a brief or a question |
| OpenAI | Turns voice notes into text | The audio recording |
Under their terms for business customers, these providers may not use your content to train their models. Anthropic deletes what it received within 30 days, unless it must keep it longer to enforce its usage policy or the law. OpenAI does not store voice recordings sent for transcription.
Before a photo is sent, we remove its metadata, including where it was taken. We send only what the feature needs.
Nothing is added to your plan without you. AI suggestions appear as drafts for you to check, edit or discard. A change the assistant proposes is applied only after you confirm it. AI can be wrong, so please check important dates and amounts.
4. Your Family Space and Who Sees What
Each family in MomiAI is a separate space. People outside your family cannot see anything in it.
- Owner and adults see the family's shared events and tasks.
- Private items are visible only to the person who created them.
- Helpers (for example a grandparent or a nanny) see only the children the owner or an adult shares with them, and the tasks assigned to them. They cannot use the AI Inbox or the assistant.
- The owner invites and removes members and can delete the family. If the owner deletes their account while other adults remain, the family passes to another adult so no one loses the calendar.
- Invite links work once and expire after 7 days.
Think before putting something sensitive in a shared item: everyone with access to it can see it.
5. Children's Privacy
MomiAI is made for parents and other adults who care for children. You must be at least 18 to create a MomiAI account. The app is not directed to children, and children do not use it themselves.
Parents and authorized adults may add information about their children, such as a first name, birth year, activities and school events, to organize family life. We use it only to provide MomiAI to that family and never for advertising.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
A parent can view, correct or delete a child's information in the app at any time, or ask us at [email protected].
6. Who We Share Information With
We share information only with the service providers that run MomiAI for us, and only what each one needs:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Render | App servers and database | United States |
| Cloudflare | File storage (R2) and our website | United States |
| Anthropic | AI processing (section 3) | United States |
| OpenAI | Voice-to-text (section 3) | United States |
| Resend | Sign-in code emails | United States |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, push notifications, App Store payments | United States |
| Google Sign-In | United States | |
| RevenueCat | Subscription status | United States |
| Sentry | Error reports: technical details and an internal user number only, never names, emails, messages, photos or documents | United States |
We may also disclose information:
- to other members of your family, as described in section 4;
- when you ask us to;
- when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the service;
- to a buyer or successor if MomiAI is sold or merged, under this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we do not use analytics or advertising tools that track you across apps.
7. Where Data Is Stored and How It Is Protected
Your data is stored in the United States: our servers and database are in Ohio, and files are in Cloudflare's US storage.
How we protect it:
- All connections between the app and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS).
- Text you paste or share and the text of your voice notes are additionally encrypted in our database (AES-256).
- Files are kept in private storage. The app can upload and view them only through short-lived signed links.
- Every request checks that you belong to the family whose data you ask for.
- Our server logs record technical details only, never names, email addresses, messages, document contents or transcripts.
No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will tell you as the law requires.
8. How Long We Keep Information
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Voice recordings | Deleted right after they are turned into text, at the latest 24 hours after recording. A note recorded offline waits on your phone for up to 24 hours, then is deleted unsent. |
| Photos, screenshots and PDFs you send | 90 days, then the file is deleted |
| Text you paste or share, and voice-note text | 90 days |
| Events, tasks and children's profiles | Until you or your family delete them, or the account or family is deleted |
| Your account | Until you delete it |
| Profile photo (Google sign-in) | Until you delete your account; deleted together with it |
| After you delete your account or your family | Everything is erased within 30 days. Items you shared in a family that continues stay with that family. |
| Backups | Up to 7 days after deletion, then overwritten |
AI providers keep content for the periods in section 3.
9. Your Choices and Rights
In the app:
- Export your data: Settings → Export my data gives you a copy of your account and family information.
- Delete your account: Settings → Delete account. It is erased within 30 days (section 8).
- Correct or delete events, tasks and children's profiles at any time.
- Withdraw AI consent: Settings → AI & privacy.
- Turn notifications or tips off in Settings or in your iPhone's settings.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to know what we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to get a copy, to object to or limit some processing, and to not be treated differently for using these rights. Write to [email protected]; we may ask you to confirm your identity first and will reply within the time the law sets.
To stop Google Sign-In access, you can also remove MomiAI in your Google account settings. For Sign in with Apple, use your Apple ID settings.
10. Permissions on Your Phone
MomiAI asks for a permission only when you use the feature that needs it:
- Notifications: for reminders, task requests and the changes you choose to hear about.
- Microphone: only while you record a voice note.
- Photos and files: only the photo, screenshot or PDF you pick is read. MomiAI does not browse your library.
You can change these permissions at any time in your iPhone's Settings. Turning notifications off does not delete your events or tasks.
11. Users Outside the United States
MomiAI stores and processes data in the United States. If you use it from another country, your information is transferred to the United States. For transfers from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on the safeguards the law requires: our providers' certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (with its UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. framework) where they have one, or standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards at [email protected].
11.1 European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland
The controller of your personal information is Anna Yelesina, who operates MomiAI ([email protected]).
Why we process your information (legal bases):
| What we do | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Your account, your family space, calendar, tasks, reminders and sync | Performance of our contract with you |
| Sending what you choose to the AI services (section 3) | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings → AI & privacy |
| "Tips to get started" notifications | Your consent (the switch in Settings) |
| Information about your children and other people you add to organize family life | Legitimate interests (yours and ours) in organizing your family's life, used only to provide MomiAI to your family |
| Security, abuse prevention and error reports | Our legitimate interest in keeping MomiAI secure and working |
| Subscription and tax records | Legal obligation |
Sensitive information. MomiAI does not ask for health, religious or other special categories of information. If you add such details yourself (for example, a doctor's appointment), we process them only to provide the feature you used, at your request, and you can delete them at any time.
Your rights. You can access, correct and delete your information, get a copy in a portable format, restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw your consent at any time without affecting processing done before. Use the in-app tools in section 9 or write to [email protected]. We reply within one month; for complex requests we may extend this by two months and will tell you why.
Automated decisions. MomiAI does not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. AI only prepares drafts and answers, and nothing is added to your plan without you.
Complaints. You can complain to the data protection authority where you live or work: your national authority in the EU, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK, or the FDPIC in Switzerland. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
Representative. Where the law requires it, we will appoint a representative in the EU and in the UK and list their contact details in this section.
12. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of California and other states with privacy laws can use the rights in section 9. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals because we do not track you across sites.
13. Changes to This Policy
When we change this policy, we update the "Last Updated" date. For important changes, we also tell you in the app before they take effect.
